Each year more than 130 clients call Harbor House Review home while they move through their journey of recovery. The alumni of Harbor House Review and other clients we serve find more than their sobriety. They learn new skills, develop reliable sources of income, and create a healthy social network to support their future dreams. Harbor House Review is a 90-day shelter program serving families, couples and single females experiencing homelessness throughout Manitowoc County.

Limited Medical Services

There are over 600 homeless single women in Spokane, many with mental health or chemical dependency issues—all with nowhere else to go. Named for the refuge it provides, Harbor House Review offers safety from the dangerous streets to any woman. Harbor House Review offers an environment of dignity, respect and compassion that honors the intrinsic value and unique experience of every woman.

Due to the physical changes your body undergoes after using drugs or alcohol many have to complete some form of detox before they can continue in treatment. This step allows the body to physically heal and remove toxins in a controlled, supervised environment. Alcohol detox and opioid detox are critical to your health, as withdrawal symptoms from both substances can be fatal. For over 30 years, we have delivered specialized SUD treatment along with mental health services in our residential treatment program. We are licensed by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and are a certified Drug Medi-Cal program.

SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER (SUD) TREATMENT

Our mission is to provide individualized SUD treatment in a structured yet warm environment. Our evidence-based, gender specific groups provide the most up-to-date information and techniques to address addiction and other harmful behaviors. We work closely with the courts, probation, parole, and Children and Family Services to address legal issues and reunify individuals with their children when possible. We provide successful residential graduates from our program and other recovery programs safe, supportive transitional living and case management. Transitional residents are required to be gainfully employed and/or be attending school, along with continued recovery based involvement in the community. Services are targeted to address the needs of individuals with co-occurring disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), deaf or hard of hearing, HIV/AIDS, and mental illness.

Following inpatient treatment, aka healing of the mind, clients typically continue into some form of ongoing, outpatient treatment. This may include Sober Living, intensive outpatient treatment, regular therapy, and more. Harbor House Review is a Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment Program serving adult women and individuals who are pregnant, with an infant or postpartum. Harbor House Review does not discriminate by race, religion, sex, gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Many worried that cognitive limitations, medical challenges, behavioral issues, or other conditions, such as autism, would make it impossible for their loved ones to live safely in their own apartments. The Harbor House Review provides free and confidential services for men, women, children, and families regardless of religion, race, or age. House of Hope provides comprehensive services that allow people with substance use disorders to thrive in recovery. House of Hope is the longest standing long-term SUD provider in Columbus, OH, providing services since 1959.

Our CARF-accredited residential treatment program offers men over the age of 18 a safe and structured environment and the foundational skills to establish a new design for living. Those seeking substance abuse treatment can maintain their professional obligations while attending drug or alcohol rehab. We offer private rooms, access to electronics, and modified treatment schedules for those in executive treatment. At The Harbor House Review drug and alcohol rehabs, clients receive premium addiction treatment at a residential center in Scottsdale, Arizona. Our clinicians have an open-door policy allowing clients to receive care between individual and group therapy sessions.

Upon starting treatment, we will work directly with your insurance company to ensure your policy is being processed correctly. Harbor House Review is dedicated to making sure every individual affected by domestic violence can find refuge and freedom. Harbor House Review Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, provides services to adults with developmental disabilities exclusively in their own homes or apartments — regardless of how complex their disabilities may be.

We reserve up to 4 beds for individuals who are pregnant or with infants (clients care for their own child while enrolled).

Harbor House Review was started in 2003 with the goal of giving men a new start in a sober, family living setting. Executive Director Neil Campbell from the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse shares her perspective on CaringWorks programs. After a stroke in June and a relapse in August of that year, he came back to Harbor House Review. He has since maintained a place to live paired with a sober, healthier lifestyle. At The Harbor House Review we’ve partnered with numerous insurance companies across the country to help offset the cost of treatment. Through comprehensive services, Harbor House Review Review provides survivors with the resources needed to get to safety. Our outpatient services are designed to meet the individual needs of adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Originally known as the Downtown Women’s Shelter, Harbor House Review was founded in response to the 1997 serial murders of women on the streets of Spokane to offer women protection from violence on the street. Operated by Volunteers of America since 2001, Harbor House Review is dedicated to making a significant difference in the lives of homeless women. For clients struggling with both prescription medication and illicit drug use, you’re not alone. Each year nearly 120,000 people across the Valley struggle with the same issue.
